As a recruiter or HR Generalist, recruitment can be a very overwhelming experience, especially if the volumes are very high.
This might lead to doing an eye wash of a job in placing the job ad as the ultimate goal is to tick off on the number of positions closed. Beware! This is going to get you nowhere.
‘Garbage In, Garbage Out’
Do not expect quality talent to apply to your ad if you have sheer irrelevant stuff posted on the easiest available portal. This holds particularly true if you are looking to hire at a senior level where people are generally not actively looking for a job.
The job ad is your first marketing tool to attract potential talent. If your ad is not able to capture the attention of relevant & potential talent, you will end up with the desperate ones only. Not only will you have a poor quality candidate pool, but also drive away promising talent for good.
Chalk out the details carefully – clearly state the requirements & benefits – proof read – pass it by internally & get feedback – post only when you are sure you have done your best.
